Zhejiang is the birthplace of the Communist Party of China (CPC), pioneer in China's reform and opening up, and where Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era takes shape. Zhejiang is increasingly connected with the world, having established direct economic and trade relations with more than 230 countries and regions, and over 500 pairs of friendly relations with provinces and cities in nearly 100 countries and regions in the world. Zhejiang Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (ZJPAFFC) and other non-governmental organizations have formed cooperative ties with more than 100 friendly organizations in the world.
