On the afternoon of March 17, Governor Liu Jie met with John Elkann, Chairman of Stellantis Group and his delegation in Hangzhou.

On behalf of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, Liu Jie welcomed the delegation and introduced the provincial economic and social development. He noted that Zhejiang is working to build a modern industrial system, with the automotive industry, especially new energy vehicles, being one of the key areas. The strategic cooperation between Stellantis and Leapmotor is conducive to leveraging the strengths of both parties and advancing high-quality development of the new energy vehicle industry. Currently, Zhejiang is aiming for “the best services, lowest costs, and highest efficiency” to attract major high-quality foreign investment projects. This creates great opportunities for foreign-invested enterprises, including Stellantis Group. Liu stressed that Zhejiang will safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of foreign enterprises and continue to build a world-class business environment featuring high-standard openness.

John Elkann expressed his willingness to improve cooperation with Zhejiang and to jointly achieve more results in areas such as new energy vehicles, striving for mutual benefit and common development.
